Truck driver charged over Appin crash with ute

A truck driver has been charged today over a serious two-vehicle crash in Appin earlier this year.

The 36-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, three counts of causing bodily harm by misconduct while in charge of motor vehicle, and negligent driving.

He was issued court attendance notice to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Thursday, November 27.

The incident took place just after 4pm on Thursday, March 13 on Appin Road, Appin.

Emergency services responded to reports of a collision between a truck and a ute.

The driver of the truck, a 36-year-old man, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.

The driver of ute, a 31-year-old man, was also treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

His passengers, a 30-year-old woman and three children aged 7, 4 and 3, were taken to Liverpool Hospital with minor injuries.

In a separate incident, a man has died following a single-vehicle crash along Greendale Road, Greendale.

Polie said that around 7.40pm last Friday, emergency services responded to reports a white Toyota Hilux had crashed.

A driver, a 53-year-old man, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

The front passenger of the vehicle – a 23-year-old woman – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital in a stable condition.

A driver has been charged after a pedestrian was struck by a car last Wednesday night at Taber Place, Bradbury.

The pedestrian, a 60-year-old woman, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before she was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle, a 24-year-old man, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing, before he was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, and negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Campbelltown Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday, September 9).
