This weekend Bulls FC Academy will take on APIA Leichhardt in a one match shootout to determine who finishes first in the 2025 National Premier Leagues Women’s NSW competition.
The Bulls were too good in Round 25, defeating Gladesville Ravens 4-1 at Northbridge Oval.
The win helped them regain the top spot on the ladder ahead of the final round of the home and away competition.
A shock loss to Macarthur Rams a week earlier in Round 24 knocked the Bulls off the perch, but now they’re back on top again with 49 points.
They have a better goal differential than second placed APIA, who are also on 49 points.
The last round match between first and second will be played at Lambert Park.
Bulls FC Academy went into the weekend’s match with Gladesville Ravens needing to get their title push back on track after their defeat at the hands of Macarthur Rams seven days earlier.
The Bulls got the ball rolling early on in the first half, with Isabella Coco-Di Sipio making space away from her marker at a corner to guide a sensational header into the far bottom corner of the net in the 17th minute.
Two more goals in the next nine minutes gave the Bulls a 3-0 lead going into half time.
After conceding three unanswered goals, the Ravens found a way back into the match nine minutes into the second half.
However their celebration had not even subsided when the Bulls just hit right back to make it 4-1.
Coco-Di Sipio fired a quality strike from distance into the bottom right corner and the Bulls held on until the end for the 4-1 victory and three points.
At the other end of the NPLW ladder, NWS Spirit defeated the Macarthur Rams 3-0 at Christie Park.
Back-to-back wins had pushed the Rams up to 11th on the ladder and given them plenty of confidence heading into this fixture.
But it was not to be three on the trot, with Spirit dominating the game from go to whoa.
It was 2-0 to the Spirit before the half hour mark, turned into a 3-0 final scoreline in the 84th minute.
Rams will also be away for their final game of the season, heading into the inner city to tackle Sydney Olympic on Sunday.
