The countdown has started for Campbelltown’s biggest multicultural festival. Feast will return on Saturday, September 20, which means Redfern Park in the heart of Minto will transform into a cultural celebration of food and dance for the day.

From 2pm to 9pm the sights, sounds and tastes of global cultures with food stalls, live performances and cooking demonstrations will be on offer.

“Feast is a chance for our community to come together and celebrate the many cultures and traditions that make up Campbelltown,” says Mayor of Campbelltown Darcy Lound.

“This year we’ve got something for the whole family, from delicious food to exciting cultural performances and activities, so I encourage everyone to join us at Redfern Park and immerse themselves in a day of global culture and community spirit,” Cr Lound said.

Cultural food vendors and cooking demonstration stations will be available at Redfern Park throughout the event, offering traditional cuisine and desserts.

Visitors can bring picnic blankets and chairs to the centre stage where they can enjoy cultural performances throughout the event, with traditional instruments, music and outfits.

A flag procession featuring over 40 cultural flags represented across Campbelltown local government area will be paraded and displayed around the stage area.

The popular Kids Activity Trail will return with a wide variety of stations hosted across the Feast venue, with activity passports which can be collected and submitted to the council information tent, to enter visitors into a prize draw.

Kids’ Activity Trail activities include, Japanese workshop (chopstick and origami activities), visitor information virtual reality session, cookie flag decorating, Indigenous cultural workshop and subcontinental dance workshop.

But wait there’s more: belly dance and drumming workshop, Chinese lantern decorating workshop, free henna art, inflatable obstacle course, jumping castle combo, and inflatable nine hole golf.

For those who like to plan ahead, here are the details for this year’s Feast: 2p-9pm, Saturday, September 20, at Redfern Park, Minto.
