Step up those who have put in the hard yards for 50 years or more

There’s a heck of lot of awards out there these days, many of them not worth the paper they’re written on.

But there are also plenty of exceptions, and one of them is the Campbelltown Jubilee Awards.

There’s no gongs or medals, just recognition for those who have been around this neck of the woods for at least five decades and done their bit for the town.

The Campbelltown City Jubilee Awards celebrate residents, businesses and community organisations that have been here for 50 years or more – 30 years or more for members of the town’s Aboriginal community.

Mayor of Campbelltown Darcy Lound – pictured above with two of last year’s recipients, Liesel Deveney (left) and Lorraine Barrington, is a supporter of the Jubilee awards.

“The Jubilee Awards acknowledge people, businesses and organisations who have been part of Campbelltown for a significant number of years and have shown an outstanding commitment to our community,” he says.

“It is incredible to think of the tremendous growth that Campbelltown has undergone over the past 50 years, and there are many people who have helped to make our city a better place to live in,” Cr Lound said.

“These awards are a unique way to show the city’s gratitude for people who have been an integral part of our community for a long time.”

At the 2025 awards ceremony later this year we will get to find who’s on the honours list.

Nominations for the Campbelltown City Jubilee Awards are open throughout the year.

Nominate someone you know fits the criteria, which can be found on the council website.

Each recipient will be presented with an award and certificate from the mayor.
