The notorious Appin Road has claimed another life, with a woman dying in a single vehicle crash this afternoon.
Police say that around 1.15pm emergency services were called to Appin Road, Appin, about two kilometres from the township, following reports of a single vehicle crash.
Officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command attended the scene and found a vehicle had left the roadway and crashed into a tree.
The female driver – and sole occupant – died at the scene.
A crime scene has been established as officers commenced an investigation into the circumstances into the incident. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Police said Appin Road is closed for another two hours and diversions are in place.
