This time next week we will all be getting set to enjoy the very last day of 2024.

New Year’s Eve partying is not for everyone, but there’s no denying there is something special about anticipating the very first day of a new year, in this case 2025.

And while many people have a quiet night with friends or family, community gatherings on New Year’s Eve offer a more communal approach.

And if you decide to just stay local for it, well, you don’t need to worry about things like potential train strikes.

It explains why Campbelltown’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration at the beautiful Koshigaya Park is so popular with locals and visitors alike.

The 2024 New Year’s Eve is set to light up Koshigaya Park from 7pm to midnight next Tuesday, December 31.

Local residents are invited to join their fellow residents to kick the new year off in local style with an evening of live entertainment, fantastic food options, kids’ activities, carnival rides, showbags and two fireworks displays – at 9pm and midnight.

“Come and celebrate the arrival of 2025 with us and bring in the new year with a fantastic celebration led by a variety of local entertainers and musicians,” says Campbelltown Mayor Darcy Lound, pictured above getting into the spirit of the big night.

“Every year it gets bigger and better, and this year is no exception with a wonderful program, perfect for families and friends to join us for what will be a great night of family fun,” Mayor Lound said.

A diverse lineup of performances is set for the event, featuring Deejay Steve-Blitz, Riah, P. Smid, The Rubber Band, Over the Edge, Christie Lamb and You Can’t Stop the Music.

Let your taste buds go into overdrive with a variety of delicious food stalls, and for the thrill seekers, don’t miss out on the range of carnival rides with ride coupons available to purchase on the night.

Road closures will be in place along Kellicar Road, Camden Road and Hurley Street from 6am on New Year’s Eve to 2am.

There is ample parking in surrounding carparks, including the rooftop of Campbelltown Mall – another bonus for staying local.
