The next federal election hasn’t been called yet, but whenever it is, Binod Paudel, the endorsed Liberal Party candidate for Macarthur, is ready to run a strong campaign focusing on the cost of living crisis.
The local entrepreneur and community leader is pledging to fight for a better deal for the community.
He will be up against Dr Mike Freelander, who has been the member for Macarthur since 2016.
“In all my years here, I’ve never seen it this tough, with so many local families struggling with household bills due to rising food, petrol and energy costs, as well as increasing rents and mortgages,” says Mr Paudel.
“In my business and leadership coaching practice I’ve witnessed first-hand the challenges that local small businesses have faced over the past two years.
“Small businesses here are finding it harder and harder to keep their doors open,” he said.
Mr Paudel, who lives in the area with his wife and son, has been an active member of the local community in the past few years.
He has been a proud volunteer with the NSW SES Campbelltown unit, and Rotary Club of Campbelltown where he has served as president.
Currently, Mr Paudel co-chairs Rotary District’s New Generations Committee, which focuses on engaging and empowering young people.
He has also been volunteering as the local government liaison for Hamro Club, Oran Park and Harrington United FC Hornets.
As a first-generation Australian, Mr Paudel says he understands the challenges faced by local families striving for a better life.
And that’s precisely the reason – he says – he will be campaigning for a better future for Macarthur, with a stronger economy and more investment in local infrastructure to ensure long-term growth and take full advantage of the coming international airport.
He would also fight for the additional funding that local healthcare, education, sports, youth and community services need, as well as protecting the region’s natural beauty and wildlife.
“Under the Albanese Labor Government, Australia’s inflation has been consistently higher than other major economies, and only the Liberals can deliver low inflation that will ease the burden on families and businesses, by cutting wasteful spending, reducing red tape and protecting consumers and small businesses,” Mr Paudel said.
“Macarthur deserves to get the services and infrastructure that we have been missing out on under Labor, and I will fight to ensure that we get the support this community deserves.
“As part of the Liberal team, I will work incredibly hard to fight inflation and deliver a strong economy, so that people will find it easier to afford mortgages, rents, and everyday expenses.
“Only Liberal Governments have the track record of delivering the strong economy that will help our community prosper and get the support it needs.”
