Fonua Pole has missed just two games since making his first grade debut in Wests Tigers colours in round 16 of the 2022 season.

Pole, who has now played 56 games for the club, has been one of the few positives during a depressing period at the Wests Tigers, three times in a row NRL cellar dwellers.

But things are looking up at the club and the young middle forward will be part of the revival after signing a two-year contract extension.

This new deal will see the 22-year-old quiet achiever remain in Wests Tigers colours until at least the end of the 2027 season.

Pole says he’s thrilled to be extending his stay at the Tigers.

“I’m so happy knowing I’ll be here at the club for at least the next three seasons,” he said.

“Although it’s been a tough few years, I’ve loved the mateship and resilience in the team.

“Now is such an exciting time for us as a club. I just want to keep working hard and continue to improve as a player.”

Wests Tigers head coach Benji Marshall says he’s pleased for Pole and the team.

“We all love what Fonua brings to the team, so this is great news for all of us,” said Marshall.

“Fonua lives and breathes our team values, and this new deal rewards his continued hard work.

“He’s a great person and a very important part of this club.”

In other player roster news, the club has welcomed Sione Fainu to pre-season training.

The 23-year-old middle forward made his NRL debut with Wests Tigers last season and joins the squad after signing a training contract.

Finally, this Thursday (November 28) Wests Tigers will be making a major club announcement.

CEO Shane Richardson will be joined by Benji Marshall, NRLW head coach Brett Kimmorley, as well respective captains Api Koroisau and Kezie Apps, for a special announcement ahead of the 2025 season.

New recruits Royce Hunt and Jack Bird, as well as Wests Tigers’ Rookie of the Year, Lachlan Galvin will be taking part in the media event. The full pre-season squad will also be in attendance.
