Campbelltown Council is going all out again to make sure there is an abundance of Christmas spirit between now and December 25.

From the lighting of a giant Christmas tree in the centre of town to the popular community carols night, Campbelltown will be Christmas central in Macarthur.

Christmas community events and activities start on Friday, November 29, when everyone is invited to help Light the big Christmas Tree at Campbelltown civic centre forecourt.

This fun filled evening from 6pm will include a visit from Santa, free face painting, stage entertainment and food stalls for the next three hours.

“Christmas is an important and exciting time for many in our community, especially those looking to enjoy the festivities locally,” says Campbelltown Mayor Darcy Lound.

“I encourage everyone to get involved in the great program of community events we have planned this Christmas, including the return of some popular favourites,” Cr Lound said.

Campbelltown Christmas Markets will bring festive cheer to Lithgow Street and Forum Q with a range of stalls, roaming performers, visit from Santa, face painting, makers workshops and live music 5pm to 10pm on Saturday, November 30, and 8am to 1pm on Sunday, December 1

Locals can also enjoy Sweets and Beats on Q for a limited time only, from December 6 to 27, featuring a dessert truck and live DJ to enjoy, each Friday night at Forum Q.

HJ Daley Library will host A Very Nerdy Xmas on Friday,  December 6, from 5pm to 8pm, welcoming residents to celebrate a year of embracing their inner nerd.

The evening invites fans of all kinds to dive into discussions on their favourite fandoms, compete in friendly board game challenges, and connect with like-minded enthusiasts.

The iconic Rocking Around Campbelltown Christmas convoy will return on Saturday, December 7 when Santa will visit four event locations across Campbelltown.

This will include free Santa photos, live music, roaming entertainers, activity stations and food trucks from 10am to 4.30pm.

The convoy will be stopping at Milton Reserve Playground (10am to 12pm); Eagle Farm Reserve (11.30am to 1.30pm); Macarthur Square (1pm to 3pm) and Cook Reserve (2.30pm to 4.30pm).

The convoy will finish its journey at Campbelltown Athletics Stadium, with Campbelltown Carols running from 5pm to 9pm, offering a night of live carols entertainment, fireworks, and a special appearance from Santa.

Residents are also encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items as part of the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal from next Tuesday, November 12 to Thursday, December 19.

Donations can be dropped off at Campbelltown Civic Centre, Campbelltown Library Services and at Light the Tree on November 29.

Donated items will be collected by the Macarthur Combined Churches and distributed at the annual Christmas luncheon.
