The 2024 Festival of Fisher’s Ghost Carnival will literally be bigger and better this year.

This year it will be held at Campbelltown Showground across a space of around 44,000sqm, which is double last year’s Carnival space at Leumeah commuter car park, at around 23,000sqm.

Last year’s event featured a total of 18 rides and sideshow games; this year organisers are looking to utilise the expanded space to feature a wider variety of rides and attractions.

And what’s more, the 2024 Carnival will have a Halloween theme.

It will be open to the public from Thursday, October 31 and every day until the Sunday for two weeks, finishing up on Sunday, November 10.

Fireworks will be held each Saturday from 9pm.

“The Festival of Fisher’s Ghost Carnival is one of our biggest yearly events, offering exciting rides and amusement fun for thrill seekers and families looking for a great night out in Campbelltown,” says council CEO Lindy Deitz.

“I encourage everyone to visit the brand-new CBD location this year and get involved in the Fisher’s Ghost fun,” Ms Deitz said.

Locals are encouraged to join Fred’s Fright Night on Thursday, October 31, with spooky characters and decorations accompanying the Halloween amusement fun on its opening night.

Fred’s Friday Night Frenzy will offer unlimited ride armbands to Friday visitors between 6pm and 10pm on each Friday of the carnival.

A ticketed quiet session in support of adults, youth and children living with disability will be held on Sunday, November 3 from 10am to 12pm, including a quiet space with sensory activities, no flashing lights, music or PA announcements and $20 unlimited ride armbands.

Carnival entry is free, while ride tickets will be on sale from October. Details on council’s website here.
