Community spirit and generosity reigned supreme at this year’s Youth Solutions annual charity event on Saturday night.

Supporters of the local charity helped raise more than $66,000 to fund and support the charity’s drug and alcohol prevention, health promotion and wellbeing services for young people in Macarthur and Wingecarrbee.

Youth Solutions works with young people aged 12-25, educating and empowering them to live healthy, safe and well-connected lives.

Its drug, alcohol and wellbeing strategies focus on learning, participation and support.

Saturday’s black and white themed ball – dubbed a “stylish soiree” – brought out the best of the community.

While everyone relished the dancing, music, entertainment and good company, the reason for the event was never far from anyone’s mind as they dug deep and generously to support fundraising activities.

Youth Solutions chief executive officer Geraldine Dean said she was overwhelmed by the community’s generosity.

“I think that’s the humbling aspect of the annual charity event – we see action and support from our community,” Ms Dean said.

“It’s wonderful to see so many people believe in what we’re doing and supporting the work with young people.

“It’s even more incredible to see people digging into their wallet for our case. This is what truly makes a difference and ensures this event is so special.”

Every cent raised at the annual charity event is invested back into Youth Solutions youth programs.

“This fundraising is crucial to our programs and service delivery. It enables us to reach more young people in the community through our drug, alcohol and wellbeing education workshops,’’ Ms Dean said.

“We also can offer outreach services to meet young people in their own environments and provide a safe space for drug, alcohol and wellbeing education and support.

“We empower young people, through education, to make better choices in their lives around alcohol, drugs and wellbeing. A young person’s decision to make better choices for themselves creates a brighter pathway to a more rewarding future.”

Amanda Dillon, the Youth Solutions manager of marketing and engagement highlighted the vital role of sponsors and donors in the success of the 2024 annual charity event.

“This is a community event in more ways than one,’’ Ms Dillon said.

“It’s our community of supporters who ensure this night is a success – sponsors, businesses and individuals who donate prizes and those who attend on the night and buy raffle tickets, bid on auction items and buy mystery prizes.’’

Ms Dillon singled out major event sponsor, Rotary Club of Narellan, for special mention.

“The club’s support of the annual charity event is amazing – and we are so appreciative.

“Few people know the Rotary Club of Narellan has supported Youth Solutions for many years. It’s actions, not just words, that mean so much,” Ms Dillon said.

“We also would like to publicly acknowledge our Crystal Sponsor, ABM Windows & Doors, and all of our table sponsors for their generous contributions to the 2024 Annual Charity Event.”
