The countdown is well and truly on for the 2023 Festival of Fisher’s Ghost, which promises to be one of the best yet.

While Aussie band Baby Animals is set to headline the Sunset Sounds concert and a new mystery ride will be unveiled at the carnival, there’s lots more on offer at the 2023 version of Campbelltown’s signature event since 1956.

ARt After Dark Trail will this year bring together augmented reality and culture – and eating out – to give participants the opportunity to learn more about public art in the Campbelltown CBD.

Funded by the NSW Government’s Culture Up Late program and serving as a collaboration between Council and Campbelltown Arts Centre, the augmented reality trail allows participants to learn about five key public artworks across Campbelltown through QR codes on their mobile devices.

The grant program aims to drive visitation to Western Sydney CBDs after 5pm, through art and cultural offerings developed by local creatives in community precincts.

“This augmented reality trail is a great opportunity for locals and visitors to our community to learn more about the amazing public art on display in our CBD by accessing the trail on their phone,” says Mayor George Greiss.

“I strongly encourage everyone to get together with their family and friends during the festival and take time to explore the many wonderful artworks our CBD has to offer,” Dr Greiss said.

The five artworks featured in the ARt After Dark Trail include Forum Q by Feras Shaheen, Raw Undoings by Danielle Mate, Three Mobs by Jason Wing, Spinning the Fire Sutra by Savanhdary Vongpoothorn in Anzac Lane (pictured above) and Breathing Life by Victoria Garcia.

ARt After Dark Trail guided tours will be offered on Saturday, November 4 as part of Fisher’s Twilight Fair.

Tour participants will receive a map of the trail, a list of Fred’s favourite eateries in and around the CBD, and more details about the project.
