The innovative Macarthur career transition program for first responders has gone online in its third year.
In the previous two years the program helped hundreds of former first responders in Macarthur transition into rewarding careers as well as gain their confidence after leaving the front line.
The program is open to current or former police, ambulance, fire and rescue and corrections personnel.
It provides real life skill development through role play and Q&A sessions.
It is also an opportunity for participants to polish their skills before applying for their next role.
Wests Group Macarthur (pictured above), Ingleburn RSL and Campbelltown Catholic Club, who fund the program, have joined forces with Beyond the Badge to deliver this vital service to first responders – who for whatever reason are looking for a change.
The clubs have each donated $22,500 for this year’s three day online program, which is now available nationally.
The 2023 program ran for three days from July 25 at each of the three clubs involved.
“The new online iteration of the program has allowed us to connect with a broader range of people and remove some of the barriers that participants can face in attending a face to face training program,’’ says Sean Haran, co-founder of Beyond the Badge and passionate first responder advocate.
“Participants are accessing the same quality training material in new and more accommodating means for their individual circumstances.”
Wests Group Macarthur chief executive officer Daniel Perkiss said they were honoured to be a supporter of the career transition program.
“This is an incredibly worthy cause, to a highly valuable target audience and we feel very strongly about taking care of those that have spent a career taking care of others,’’ Mr Perkiss said.
