Hit the road, Leppington residents, your part of the world has been successful in the latest round of Get NSW Active program.
Leppington will receive funding for not one but two projects from the NSW Government’s $39.5 million program.
It will mean walking and bike riding in Leppington is set to become safer and more accessible with the $500,000 investment in two local projects.
The first is Camden Valley Way, a shared path connection along the southern side of Camden Valley Way between Guild Avenue and Cowpasture Road.
The second is the Government Road, M7 Cycleway Link, an off-road shared path along the southern side of Government Road between Cowpasture Road and the M7 Cycleway.
The projects will now be progressed and delivered by Liverpool City Council.
Newly elected member for Leppington, Nathan Hagarty, has described the projects as a big win for Leppington residents.
“Leppington is in a rapid growth corridor and it’s great to finally see investment in infrastructure where it is sorely needed,” said Mr Hagarty, who is pictured above on the M7 cycleway, which runs the entire length of the motorway.
“These projects are common sense improvements that I welcome.
“I advocated for these upgrades and it’s good to see words put into action in our area.
“When these projects are completed, it will be easier and safer to get around if you are cycling or walking.” Mr Hagarty said.

It’s a pity Campbelltown invested so much funds into the one project (Billabong) instead of spreading the funds around the community. Walking trails in the Scenic hills or Water Parks in the suburbs.
