A 45 year old man has been charged almost two months after a 10 year old girl riding a pushbike on Campbelltown Road was struck by a ute and taken to hospital.
The man was charged last Saturday (April 16) with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive in a manner dangerous, negligent driving and failing to stop for a red arrow.
He has been issued a court attendance notice to appear before Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday, June 1 this year.
The incident occurred around 8pm on Sunday, February 20.
The 10-year old girl was riding a pushbike when she was struck by a utility on Campbelltown Road at Bardia.
The child suffered a fractured leg and abdominal injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition.
Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command established a crime scene and the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) conducted inquiries.

In other police news, a man has died following a house fire in near Liverpool overnight.
Emergency services were called to a home on Coonong Street, Busby, about 8.30pm after reports of a fire.
Fire and Rescue NSW attended and forced entry to the home, locating the sole occupant deceased inside.
The 84-year-old man is yet to be formally identified.
The blaze was extinguished; however, the home was significantly damaged.
Officers from Liverpool Police Area Command have established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist forensic police.
An investigation is under way into the cause of the fire and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
